Terms of Service

The terms and conditions governing the use of our website and the electrical services provided by Reliant Electrical Services in the United Kingdom.

Governed by UK Law Consumer Rights Act 2015 Last Updated: 1 January 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Reliant Electrical Services website and any electrical services we provide. By accessing our website or engaging us to carry out work, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use our website or services. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

01

Introduction

These Terms apply to all visitors of our website and to all customers who instruct us to provide electrical services. They should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK legislation. If there is any conflict between these Terms and your statutory rights, your statutory rights will prevail.

02

About Us

Reliant Electrical Services is a UK-based electrical contractor providing residential, commercial, and industrial electrical services across Nottingham, London, and surrounding areas. All work is carried out by qualified and competent electricians in accordance with current UK electrical safety standards, including BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations).

03

Quotations & Estimates

All quotations and estimates provided by Reliant Electrical Services are:

  • Based on the information available at the time of the request.
  • Valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Subject to a site survey, where additional work or unforeseen conditions may affect the final price.

Any variation to the agreed scope of work will be discussed with you in advance and may result in an adjusted quotation. We will always seek your approval before carrying out additional work that changes the agreed price.

04

Bookings & Scheduling

Once you accept a quotation, we will agree a mutually suitable date and time for the work to be carried out. While we make every effort to arrive on time, delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. traffic, weather, or urgent emergency callouts).

We will always aim to notify you in advance if we are running late or need to reschedule. For emergency callouts, response times may vary depending on your location and current workload.

05

Payment Terms

Payment terms will be confirmed in writing before work begins. Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Payment is due within 7 days of invoice for domestic customers.
  • Commercial customers may be offered agreed credit terms where pre-arranged.
  • For larger projects, staged payments may be required and will be set out in your quotation.

We accept bank transfer and other agreed methods. Late payments may incur interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.

06

Cancellations

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

Where a booking is cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable cancellation fee to cover loss of time and travel. For emergency callouts that have already been attended, the callout charge remains payable.

As a consumer, you may have additional cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 where a contract is agreed remotely. Please contact us for details.

07

Our Workmanship

We take pride in our work and stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship. All work is completed to a professional standard and in accordance with relevant UK regulations.

  • Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, unless otherwise stated in writing.
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to any parts or equipment we install.
  • Any issues arising from our workmanship will be investigated and rectified promptly.

This guarantee does not cover damage caused by third parties, misuse, wear and tear, or work carried out by others after our completion.

08

Customer Responsibilities

To help us carry out work safely and efficiently, we ask that you:

  • Provide safe and unobstructed access to the working area.
  • Remove or protect valuables, furniture, and fragile items from the work area.
  • Inform us of any known hazards, hidden cables, asbestos, or previous electrical work.
  • Ensure that children and pets are kept away from the working area for safety.

Where the customer fails to provide reasonable access or safety conditions, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel work without liability.

09

Liability

We are insured for our work and take reasonable care at all times. However, our liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for pre-existing faults, hidden defects, or damage caused by third parties.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses beyond the value of the work carried out.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Where consumer law provides additional protection, those rights remain unaffected.

10

Complaints & Disputes

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can try to resolve the issue. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 working days and to provide a full response within 10 working days.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint directly, you may have the right to refer the matter to a relevant UK alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme or to take legal action in the courts of England and Wales.

Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

15

Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence provide otherwise.
